I've got a generic Wintal/Supernet/Digitec PVR and am considering upgrading my firmware.

Now I'm not especially technically minded, so if I decide to attempt this I'd like to know

exactly what benefits I am going to get out of it. I'd be most appreciative if any users

could list features that become available after performing this task. If its fairly limited I may

not bother. After all, the only thing I really want is an interactive TV Guide. wub.gif

Cheers...

If you have an original Wintal box running 3.39 firmware, a newer firmware will fix a myriad of glitches and add features such as the ability to edit recordings.

For other boxes, the ability to use any HDD is a boon, as is improved stability; otherwise the need to upgrade is not compelling.

Mate, you'd be better off posting this in the SD forum, being an SD PVR, or the PVR/Rrecording section, as you will get more replies and more info. This is really for HD boxes and PVR's, being able to display SD also, hence SD/HD.

No need to be dude... it's cool, I just thought it might be better for you to post it there. People here will help you, but most people with the SD boxes will be in there. rolleyes.gif I would help you but I haven't used one of these...
