When the PVR time skip interval disapears!

My V70 J35 after several months of relative stablilty when stupid this weekend.

First the audio cut out entirely. Turned it off at the power and back it came. That was Saturday. Sunday morning the same thing happened.

Turning it off at the power locked up the box (no signal).

I had to redo the installation and in the process lost all the timer entries. After finally getting it all reinstalled and getting the channals right etc, I found the PVR function is not working.

I've check (and rechecked repeatedly) the setting in the menu for the skip ahead function. I can get to the setting, but it is blank. I cannot get any value to appear using the arrows (per the manual) or using the numbers or the buttons on the unit itself.

No PVR = ads!!!!

This is the last straw. It's back to Castel you go. If Castel cannot fix this and/or the V71 is not fix to all the horrible problems, then I will be insisting on a refund so I can get the new LG HD PVR. I saw it advertised in the Sunday paper for $1299.

I never wanted to own LG, but it cannot be worse than the J35.

Anyone else had the PVR problem?

I have not had that particular problem, but my V71 does the following:

1) Bad sectors on the hard drive lock the unit up on playback.
2) Can not pickup Southern X while cyclying up the channels (down is fine - WTF?)
3) Still awful OSD
4) Still missing automatic timeslip
5) Still missing weekday schedule
6) Still missing pause playback to check live TV
7) Still missing bookmarks so I can return to watch the rest later
8) Still an awful remote (Here's a good one)
9) Still noisey

Ok - most of those things are not actual faults, just bad design. I will be using the two real faults to return and replace the unit.
