QUOTE
"When too much TV is never enough, you need the LST-5402P from LG: a hard disk recorder with a whopping 250GB drive. Why so big, Grandma? All the better to record crystal clear pictures from its twin HDTV tuners with, my dear. You can fit 40 hours of high definition footage on there, or 80 of standard fare, and with the ability to record two channels at once, time shifting and picture in picture features, and a digitil HDMI output, the LST5402P offers serious performance for the money. But if 15 large is ones is still too rich for you, there's also a 160GB version available for $200 less. RRP $1499 {250GB}"

Excellent, lets hope they work better that the toshi happy.gif and certainly a price deacrease would be great, but I don't see these getting below $900 - $1000 any time soon. They may drop though a fair bit over 6 months to a year.

hrrmm yeah been thinking bout that. Now that the Toshi has been out for a while an 70+ updates to it, it would be working pretty dam smick. Im jus thinking on how many the LG will need to go through before its up to scratch.

As for when it will be released huh.gif did not say.... will be keeping an eye on it

he probably meant the 15 large smacks that you'd give your self after buying the thing ! biggrin.gif

seriously $1500 is where the tosh is at so thats were theyre aiming no doubt.

re tosh making it for LG. Well I doubt very much tosh even make their own unit. Its quite likely whoever makes the tosh for them makes the LG as well. One thing we do know thats been posted is the lg is not made by humax.

whatever it is its good to see this one and the more manufacturers bringing stuff liek this out the better for all of us.

You'd think that'd be the case wouldn't you.

I'd certainly be looking at that Hitachi if it were released here.

they would probably need more competition and more HD material to drive sales numbers.... I think the SD toppy would be the 'best bang for the buck' for a little bit longer....

The Latest HN catalogue for Sydney, page 9 has the LG HD PVR (LST5403P - 250G model) advertised now for $1499.

I rang HN and asked if they had any in stock - answer was 'No - they'll be there in 1 to 2 weeks".

The LG website says they'll be released late December.

The LG website says January 2006 next to the product description.

I visited a local store today to look at the current LG STB - nice.

I asked about the new PVRs and they have them in their catelogue next month. They said they were waiting for them from LG, who do not have stock yet.
