The LG unit is about $440 at the good guys but it is a bit low in features.
e.g. you cannot delete chanels only block them from the up/down arrows.
This means if you live in a place that can pick up signals from several service areas you end up with lots of channels with the same LCN.
In my case I had 2 2 3 3 5 8 8 20 20 21 21 22 22 30 30 31 31 33 33 38 38 39 39 50 70 70 71 71 72 72 73 73 80 80 200 200 201 201 some of which were very low signal strength.

It was VERY annoying.

It also often delayed the audio by as much as 2 seconds.

The Info/Guide etc was in really small writing and difficult to see from a distance (1024x768 106cm plasma @ 2.5m)

I swapped it for a Samsung 550

I paid $450 at DJ's, but I know people are getting them for $400 from JB after bargaining.

I have no audio dropouts when changing channels. Audio comes up as soon as the picture does. My unit is only 2 weeks old. Perhaps they fixed the issue, or maybe I got lucky.

As for the channels, I only watch Channels 70, 90, and 12. So not too bothered by not being able to arrow up and down, I just punch them in.

The remote isn't too flash, rubbery buttons, but again, for $400 who can be fussy.

And finally, the menu's are cool. They are transparent, so don't interfrere with the picture when you are playing with the settings.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

$420.00 From Warehouse Sales in Bendigo.

Good guys had it for $440.00 but after standing in the place, and practically having to yell out COME SERVE ME, i went to Warehouse sales and they did it for $420.00 for me.

You can 'delete' the channels on this LG HD Box as well as 'Skip' them through the on screen menu system.

This box can be had for $395.00 delivered to your door in Sydney.

I own one of these boxes and I'm curious - how do you DELETE a channel so it no longer exists? The problem is I have a pronto that I have programmed with Channel buttons (ie. Nine HD, Ten, SBS HD etc) that take me directly to a specific channel by sending the appropriate codes (ie. 1 then 2 then OK for Ten HD).

The problem is, the first channel the LG detected for Channel 9 HD is terrible quality, but I have not found a way to delete it. This means plumbing in 9 then 0 always gives me the dodgy Channel 9 HD. I have to plumb it in again to get to the next one along, which has good reception.

Very anoying. How do you delete channels again?

Thanks,
Ed

I have this unit and am fairly the manual only discusses skipping channels, not deleting them. However, the manual is next to useless, so maybe it just doesn;t discuss a feature that is actually available. If so, I would be interested to learn how to do it.
