Dear All

I am new to the plasma game and am finding it difficult to ensure i have the most optimal setup of my system. I would appreciate some help from the experts.

I have the following:
* Foxtel STB (Digital via cable)
* LG Plasma 42PX2RV
* LG HDD DVD RH7521W
* DGTEC STB DG-HD804

I also have the following cables:
* HDMI
* SCART-RGB
* RWY
* component cable

My question is - what is the best setup? I want to be able to use the DVD recorder to record Foxtel TV but I also want to be able to use the expensive cables I purchased (component cable and HDMI). At the moment I have SCART from Foxtel to DVD and component cable from DVD to Plasma. I am not sure if I need the DGTEC STB at all given this setup?

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Run foxtel and STB into dvd recorders input terminals(s-video or what ever you hav) than run componant (or HDMI is dvd recorder has it) to the plasma thats how mine is set up than i run a audio out in the plasma to my high end HIFI (no point getting a HT system when my hifi blows them all away) and couldn't be happier with it but i don't have the same plasma so don't know how it would be on yours but should still be good(i also recomend you don;t use the supplied cables) Hopefully thisn didn't confuss you

The majority of todays plasmas usualt have 2 AV and 2 componet. Some may have 3 AV but the best picture is uaualy though the DVI/HMDI connector. I know the 804 has DVI which is the big brother to HDMI same signal just different connector. You should be able to get a cable that can convert. Either that or run stright DVI.

I have a DSE DVD recoder at home and run my Foxtel though it and component to my plasma. THE DSE up converts to progresive scan also so the picture looks a little sharper than using the standard AV directly into the plasma. My 804 runs in via DVI and runs great
