G'da y all just after some info on the Samsung PS42D5SX. Just seen this model at HN for $3299 and trying to find out if this is good or bad. Actually was there to check out the LG with biult in HD Tuner but seen the Samsung right beside it and the two could not have been more different in pq. Salesman did some tweaking of the LG unit and it did fix up the pq but still I was seriuosly impressed with the Samsung. Any info greatly appreciated.

I have not seen the Samsung, but I have the LG with HD STB in built and could not be happier with the PQ.
Were the 2 units running from the same feed?

Well, HN are advertising this TV in the Sydney Morning Herald this morning (Saturday) for $2999 so you might have done yourself a favour in not buying it impulsively. I might be tempted myself!

Actually, according to the Samsung website, that price HN quoted you of $3299 is the full RRP. So that would have definitely been a bad deal! 
The feature that it is missing that rules it out for me is teletext (well they don't mention it in the specs). Otherwise, less than ten percent off RRP? Not sure if that is such a great deal these days...could be well worth shopping around...

They where running from the same feed. I am going back there today to have another look at both of them as I have only read good things about the LG unit and nothing about the Samsung unit.
