here's my idea, looking to buy a humax pvr-8000t for normal pvr use, then when something special comes along plug in a dvd recorder to the scart out (vcr) and burn the something special to disc

a couple of questions
1. will the resulting dvd be fairly high quality or will it be degraded significantly?
2. is there anything wrong with this idea, it is possible right?
3. are there any other pvr's that can do the job in the same way also? .. Strong SRT 5390B? .. bit more expensive tho, $600ish? ..probably go to a topfield if i spend that much

looking at a Humax PVR 8000t 80gb model, checking humax website, it seems the currant model, with a 200gb hdd receives vhf and uhf

"48.5MHz to 226.5MHz (VHF)" and "470MHZ to 862MHz (UHF)"

this is bit of a surprise, i thought it was a digital sd receiver? ...does it do both?

edit: both as in sd digital and conventional tv
