I'm about to undertake the task of building my own arcade cabinet and I'm hunting around for a standard 68cm TV to use in it. I don't want to spend a whole lot, but then again I don't want the PQ to be sub-par. I could go second hand, but because these sets are generally very cheap now I'm going new.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a TV that's relatively cheap, but has a good PQ? I need it to have at least an S-video connection, Scart RGB/Component would be a bonus.

I'm a bit wary of the TV's from the cheaper stores (Warehouse, Overflow, etc) as I bought a 51cm a while back for cheap and the PQ was horrible.

Has anyone had any experience with the Sharp CX68RF5 model?

The trouble is practically all the standard TV's have the speakers on the side which add to the width.

Hey Dreamcazman i recently purchased a Teac 68cm crt for the missus and i reckon the PQ is great, its the current model the model number escapes me at the moment and im to lazy to look up on web but its the silver one with a dark grey boarder around the screen.BTW it had a RRP @ JB and other stores of $599 but picked it up @ the Good Guys on sale for $390 smile.gif

Hey Ryan, I forgot about Teac, there are a few listed on their site, but only one of the 68cm sets will fit within my measurements (must be less than 720mm wide). Unfortunately, this is the one that doesn't have component inputs huh.gif

I'll be doing a cheap TV hunt this coming Saturday so I'll check them out, thanks.
