Hi team, I've seen a philips 32pw8808 on sale (new) for $900, its a 76cm widescreen, 100hz matchline with 3 year warranty. It isn't progressive so not high def compatible though.

Any comments on this one out there, good deal, are there better choices for the budget range, are you getting much better spending another $1000 on something else etc.

Also it accepts accept 480p/60Hz, 576p/50Hz and 1080i/60Hz.

I would run it through a set top box, which is high def but can also send sd of course, and I would run a dvd into it. Is there much diff between sd and high def in crt's.

Many questions, thanks for any thoughs on these.

I went and bought this one, last one as a runout at Myers. I'll try it out tonight..
