Someone should be able to clarify this...I have read the Topfield 5000pvr (no t, the satellite version) can if you have the older iredeto (I think that's what they are called) card. Problem is this is then the satellite version and will then not work with FTA which is terrestial.

I guess that's where the twin tuners would be useful if they were one of each...

I've heard that a Tivo can, but I've never used one so can't verify.

As far as I know there are no comerical recorders than record anything other than FTA programs, your best bet is a DVD recorder but it has got digtal tuners wink.gif
or Build your own (eg OZTivo or MythTV etc..)
if someone finds one please let us know and get to the end of the queue. mellow.gif

One way of doing it is to get a PVR that can record from its analogue inputs. Topfield etc can't - they're digital only. I believe the Panasonic HDD+DVD machines can do this. The downside is that you must have your Austar box switched on and on the correct channel for timer recordings. FTA (analogue) recording is no problem. Timeshifting is great because you can change channels "ahead of time" on Austar while you're watching the previous show on another channel.

Personally I use a JVC HDD+SVHS machine to record Austar, which unfortunately for you, is no longer available. This machine is even able to switch channels on a satellite box for timer recording but, unfortunately for me, can't control the Austar box.
