smile.gif Pros
Record 2 programs simultaneously
TimeSlip viewing
30 sec forward jump
bigfix
mad.gif Cons
Ugly and unreadable menus
Unable to name preset recording sessions
No jump back 10 sec button
Very un-ergonomic remote control
Number keypad on remote is very small so difficult to use and read
Extra inputs (L1 & L2) DO NOT display via any of the outputs except HDMI
The RGB output is infact RGBHV so normal RGB is not possible.
So unless you have you have a HDMI capable screen you will probably be stuck with Composite or S-Video output.
Had it less than a week and already required reboot to unfreeze the HDD

HDD-J35

Pros
- Dual antenna. Rec/View HDTV. Tuner quality is very good.

Cons
- Too many firmware released bugs to list here. Check out the other threads for more details.

Pros : Picture quality on HD excellent
Advertising 3minute jump is great for cutting ad's
Has been reliable and menu for recording is easily managed.

Cons : If you 'overjump ads and hit rewind watch out! It develops a mind of its own and you can't stop the rewind. This is very aggravtaing after a while. Needs a 10 second jump back or the like.

Pros
Can record two different programs simutaniously, plus watch a previously recorded program at the same time! Pretty impressive grunt

Recorded image quality is very good

Con
Had to reboot it twice now, that’s once per week.

I believe a bug fix is in the pipeline for that. In the meantime avoid using rewind when recording something else. Instead use the jump to a percentage point in the recording using Number buttons. ie press 2 for 20% It gets you close and then just use Fast Forward to get closer, or the jump forward button. This way you avoid using the rewind which gets stuck.

Is ity just when you are recording something else? Second problem : picture freezes in FF mode - you don't know when to stop except by the time bar.
