Hi All,

Just went to the good guys to buy the PX11 and was told that the new model is on its way.

The PX3 will offer 10000:1 contrast at the same price $2995 + 5 year warranty.

So I booked mine in, should be here in 2-3 weeks. smile.gif

Although, I have not been able to find any info on the web except for the LG Italian website.

Also, there is another model the PX4 coming out for $3995. This one apparently has integrated digital tuner.

Regards.

Julian

Just received an email from LG-Australia. The model was officially launched last Saturday and should be available in stores from 22 May. I have asked for specs -- will post when I receive.

And Gordon -- I am not well-off like you -- have to live with those crap brands.

Thanks Gordon. I have had an LG LCD PC Monitor at home for 3 years and it has never had a problem. I'm happy to take the risk, and I always purchase extra warranty when spending that sort of money!

$2499 is a great price. My friend who is working at one of the stores swears that 2499 is not possible. He could not do that price for me.

So..Well done.

Julian

i think it was available as a special promo price for the Townsville Home Show which is where i made the deposit.

can anybody confirm whether is actually has an SD tuner in it or not? Some info I have seen says it does, and other info doesnt specify... I'd love if it does, but i'll have my STB on it anyway....

Hi All,

The LG website in Australia has been updated, although the specs are not complete, The owners manual is available as a PDF.

Julian.

i went to harvey norman today, had a caual look at the plasma dept, noticed that they have an lg 42" for $2,999, took the latest catalogue, and left.

they have the new model lg 42px3rvc in the catalogue. so i assumed what i saw earlier in the shop was the new model, though i am not sure because i did not pay attention to the model number.

i surely will buy a 42" plaama at the end of this month when we move into the new house. what i am not sure is whether i should buy hd or sd. i mostly watch foxtel and dvd but very little fta channels. it seems that sd should be enough for my purpose. moreover, i can save around $2,000 in the price differential between hd and sd, plus around $500 for hd stb.

any advice from experienced users is appreciated.

Unionshopper quoted me $2745 cash price, pickup in Brisbane with 1yr warranty.

So the good guys price of $2499 is very good indeed.

Yes, it definately does have a SD Tuner. You might want to grab a DVI to HDMI cable as well, as this model doesn't have a DVI input, or you could spend $1500 for a HD STB with HDMI out. I'd go for the cable!

Do you want to say it has an in-built SD tuner? If so, then why do need the cable for? Am I missing something here?

Does anyone have one of these sets yet? I purchased the PX11 a couple of weeks ago and was told a new model wasnt coming. So when I heard about the new model on here I rang and they have agreed to swap it over with the new model. Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to compare it to the old model?
s3073887
Go to this thread (http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtopic=18416). Quite a good number of people have got this model.
glenno
The PX3 doesnt have a Digital tuner. It has an analog tuner. I live in the Analog shadow of the TV towers so all i get is black and white pictures through the inbuilt tuner. Plug in by STB and a perfect picture.

So im not sure where people got the idea it had a SD digital tuner built in. As an example it lets you tune in Channel 5A which is definetly a Analog left over!

Apart form that the PX3 rocks.

Cheers,

Glenn.

set mine up this afternoon... looking good so far, will callibrate it a bit tonight. very happy with the purchase.

Got Mine as well, This model is better than I expected. The Blacks and Reds are fantastic.

Cant figure out the Teletext yet.

I also rocked the contrast back to 50% for the moment.

Will update as I use it
