It is always a good idea to run in a Plasma display as the first 100 to 200 hrs are crucial to bed everything down and let the phosphor settle.

The way I approach this is make sure I have the brightness and contrast dialled down by at least 25% for the first 200 hours and making sure I have the screen full utilised during this time.

If you are watching free to air and a 4:3 show is playing use your STB to expand the screen so the whole screen is covered that same applies for DVD showing a 2:35 aspect ratio.

If you do this for the first 200 hours you should be run in fine
