Hi All,
Hi All,

Have had my HT for about 6 months now and its the best thing since sliced bread!
Most of the world does not know what they are missing by not switching from their old analog gear to wide screen HD.
I've sort of muddled my way through conecting everything up and I am stoked by the picture and sound quality of DVD,SD and HD free to air tv.
One issue that I have been unable to solve is that when I switch to the foxtel digital box the aspect default ratio is WIDE and I then have to change it to 16:9.
For all the buggerrising around with the Panasonic Viera plasma and foxtel box settings I cant fix it.
My foxtel box is connected directly to the tv via a SCART to S Video cable.

Anyone have a fix for this?

Regards
johnthel

Hi,
This is what I get; it may help you.
I have Austar & not Foxtel; I think they are similar.

Dick Smith SD Set top Box – set to 16:9 – FTA ABC & SBS TV Remote set to “FULL” gives correct “Widescreen”. That is to say the picture occupies the total TV Screen. {Aspect Ratio is correct}

Analog FTA “Full” fills the TV Screen to about 70%. That is to say the TV Screen is filled vertically but about only 70% horizontally. {Aspect Ratio is correct}

Austar Digital STBox – set to 16:9 – “Full” fills the TV Screen to about 80%.
{Aspect Ratio is correct}

I do not yet get HD.
