I have a Wintal PVR-x10 and live in Melbourne.
Are there any tricks to making teletext work ? Ive tried every channel and just get a blank teletext screen .

Teletext is only active on Channel 7 - switch to 7 and hit the Text button, and there you are.
Teletext captioning is available on all channels during prime time; just hit the Text button on the appropriate channel and key in "801" (the page where the subtitles live). If the program is captioned, after a short delay the box will switch back to a full-screen TV picture with big blocky subtitles at the bottom.
