I am certain that I will be flamed for asking such a docile question, but .....

Is there any way to configure the 2nd SCART output on the 5000 to component output? The one marked VCR, that only outputs composite or S-Video?

Is there a software upgrade, TAP or hack that will do this? Or do you need to buy a converter? Can it be done?

One eye shut in the anticipation of replies telling me to crawl back into the analogue cave that I just crawled out of...... unsure.gif

The only thing I know is that you can plug a STB box into it so you have a third tuner smile.gif

Not that I'm aware of. It's a VCR scart and don't think it was designed for high quality output. Seems to be pretty standard for scart devices, like foxtel boxes. Does make me wonder if manufacturers will change this going forward with DVD recorders with comopnent (or other) input replacing VCRs these days...

On a related question does the VCR scart still have the OSD show up? ie if I wanted to record from it I wouldn't want the OSD to show and now I think about it nor have the volume change...

The VCR SCART can be set as a pass-through for RGB or YUV. As an example I connect SCART to SCART from Foxtel Digital to the Toppy, set both Foxtel and Topfield to RGB, then route the Toppy output through Cypress RGB > YUV on the TV. Switchover from Foxtel to FTA (and back) is immediate using the Toppy remote. Also the stereo sound from the Foxtel SCART is routed to the Toppy RCA L/R output.

No it can't be done looking at the data sheet for the Switching/Output IC (STV6412A) on the Topfield it can output one only set of RGB/Component lines, as others have said it can pass thru signals.
