i'm currently living in Melbourne, and have a Topfield 5000 (and couldn't live without it now!). my question...

when i move back to London, will i be able to scan and pick-up the free-to-air digital channels there on my Toppy?

with our firmware being Australia-specific, what will i have to do to get it to work in the UK?

thanks...

Sell it, and buy a replacement over there.

{OK, Any toppy gurus feel free to correct me!}

well, that's the worse-case scenario - the price difference between a UK unit and one here is quite a lot.

Huh? The UK TF5800 is cheaper than the Aust one. £299 RRP (about $730 AU). Plus it has a 160GB HDD.

You could possibly install the UK firmware on it (although it's not available for download yet AFAIK) - but it probably won't work because they use a different loader version than the Aust model.

ah, my mistake... i haven't checked the prices in a while mellow.gif

Wouldnt the sound crystal be a different frequency too guys? If so then you may get pictures but no sound!
I also thought the DVB standards are different back there than here.
