This morning as the Opentel was to record a prpgram I got a screen message saving A/'B tuners were unlocked and it couldn't record?, anyone know what this means abd how to fix it?.
(the unit had already recorded 3 shows beforehand)

Just re-boot the box, off/on at the wall socket.

yeah ive had this problem a few times and yest whilst turning it off at the wall does fix it, its not aceptable. The whole point of a pvr is to be able to schedule and not worry about these sorts of things. I have emailed Opental about this issue, but have yet to hear anything. Interestingly i have just noticed that they have removed 1.40 upgrade from the website and recommened going back to 1.19 which gets around a bug that came into the software where all channels arent recognised. I want to know if they mean after a scan of channles or jusr random dissapearing of channles. I get this randonly where all of a suddne i cant get anything other than 7. Once again a switch off of power at the wall resolves it. Anyone else been getting this?

Thanks you I'll give that swirch on/off at wall socket a try. Thought it/I was going crazy, cause I had already recorded...mmm.
Don't think I'll be going back to older firmware as I just got my Opentel and it only has 1.40, would upgrade though if its an improvement.
Does this Kristal give good email support?, sent them 2 emails so far only one was responded to, also seems they are doing nothing about this woeful users manual.
cheers...

Rescan your channels. I just had the problem a few minutes ago. The message says the channel is unlocked. Rescanning it seemed to fix it for me.

As already noted, switching off the mains power is a quicker and easier solution though no means acceptable. I found a very interesting prob tonight with the unit which i had heaps when i first got he unit. The re-emergence may be due to moving back to 1.19 firmware. If i record anthing in DD2.0., the recording comes out with no audio and tends to be jerky. Switch back standard PCM and it records fine. Anyone else had this problem. The problem didnt seem to be about when i went to the last firmwae update prior to 1.40, but rolling back has re-introduced it. Im hoping they sort out these issues soon. Kinda ruins the experince.

Nospoon, I tried re scanning but that didn't help, then I tried the on/off at PP and that did the trick!. I'm concerened if it keeps happening I'll have to continue with this method.
Must say the recoding quality to date has been top notch.
Cheers...

Try either downgrading the firmware or wait for the new firmware release which is rumoured to be this week. I never had that problem before I upgraded to 1.4

Well rescanning only temporarily fixes the problem. I've downgraded now to my prior version of the firmware (1.19) and all is good again.

In the last 24 hours I've recorded, played back, and had no jitterey images, so its looking OK so far.

Foxtail - it's a shame you encountered this problem after a lot of us saying that we never had a problem with the Opentel. It was true at the time for me! Prior to installing the 1.4 firmware last week, I never had a problem. That's probably why the firmware was pulled from the web page!

Wow Nospoon you sure are quick off the mark.
Now all I have to do now if find someone with a PC laptop (I have new Apple iMac) and that funny little cable to help me work out how to upgrade then it will be fine.
