Hi,

I am looking at transporting a NEC PX-42XR3W plasma screen on a regular basis.

If you use the original packing will it be ok, it will be used for public display at outdoor exhibitions about 6 times a year.

Want to make sure before I even look at doing it.

Thanks for any help.

original packing would be fine. Though I'd get a wooden crate (made up for it to go ont he outside) - theyre really quite cheap and necessary I think if your going to be moving it around a fair bit.

Following on from alebonau's advice, I'd make sure the crate had little wooden feet sticking out at the bottom, much like a PC FileServer. This would ensure that it is can't be accidentally loaded on it's side on the truck. It would also help to stop it from tipping over during transit.

If the panel is laid flat, it becomes succeptible to twist, which can potentially break the glass. It should always be transported vertically.
