Hi, i have been offered one of these from a friend. It has been used for a week for a major sporting event and is now being sold with a 12 month warrenty. It is actually a commercial unit with a 60 000 hour half life. It has been offered to me for $2950 with a desktop stand. Do you guys think this is a good deal. I would much rather a panasonic than a teac etc but thought i would be restricted to a cheaper brand because of budget.
i have noticed hd plasmas are now under $4000, should i just wait another few months till they drop a bit more?

Opinions?

Hi fergo.
Go to UK forum to view posts by many happy owners of this panel. It is probably the pick of the SD plasmas and at that price it has to be a good buy. As you stated, the series 7 panels are being introduced into Aus. as commercial panels, so you won't find them in the shops. Dvi connections above 576p at 50 hz. are still a problem with the Panasonics but there is talk of backward compatible dvi blades with the release of the series 8 panels.

I don't know which state are you from, you can get this model in retail store in Sydney, and priced $3299. If you can get it below $3000, it is very good value (if it is a brand new one) as the unit is orignial made in Japan and have the contrast ratio of 4000:1, not a bad choice!!

You know that is a commerical model, you need to get few of the BNC plug in order to hook up the composit (RCA).

Is the unit come with DVI connection? As I know that it only come with RGB input.
