Be interesting to see if this unit works with Australian HD STB's via VGA or DVI.

Specs say minimum vertical 56Hz. The vertical is the most important issue here.

There is very little difference between 56Hz and 50Hz when it comes to progressive.

Maybe only suitable for a media centre PC with a H tuner card set 75Hz vertical to time match our Australian digital TV.

Sorry you have the wrong model here. You are talking about the LCD TV model which is different from higher speced model I quoted EARLIER.

i have been interested in the 24" model since it came out, it got a good review, and it really is an affordable option.

but with you all being worried about this 50hz thing (I cant find where it says 60Hz only), Im second guessing. What is the huge problem with it running at a minimum of 56hz?
cuzza
ah ok my apologies for misleading

It may not work with Australian HD STB's.

It may only be satisfactory with a Media Centre PC with HD tuner for broadcasted DTV running at 75Hz. That Is. 75Hz is increment for 50Hz still matching our framing rates which are PAL based timings.

So whats the problem then? Isnt everyone running an HTPC now days? tongue.gif

Well for my needs this is perfect.

Fox isnt HD, I have an SD in my HTPC now, and if I need to upgrade to HD in the future I can, an Xbox at HD runs at 60hz (I believe? Im still not sure about doing this the unmodded way yet, and definitely dont want to do it an illegal way) anyways I believe. Only issue I see arising is if fox digital implement HD, but by that time I will own a much bigger screen.
