Can any exisitng owners of the Pioneer 435 display please confirm:

- Can it accept 720p at 50Hz (rather than just 60Hz)
- Is the HDMI port HDCP compatible and had anyone successfully connected it to a DVI output of an HDSTB.

Thanks
Archer

The plasma definately accepts 1080i at 50Hz over the HDMI port. It is very likely to accept 720p also but I'm not sure why you would use 720p. There are no broadcasts in 720p and the best setting is 1080i IME as this will bypass the need for scaling with 2HD, 9HD and 10HD. Even if their was a broadcaster that used 720p this would be the 'odd one out' and setting your STB to change resolution depending on the channel will change the resolution/timing sent to the plasma, giving different correct settings in the Picture Menu.

The HDMI port is definately HDCP compliant and it does work with a DVI output STB. I personally have seen these running from the DVI port on a Teac and LG STB using a HDMI to DVI cable.
