Look what I found:

Siemans Gigaset M740 AV
twin digital tuners (I'm guessing SD, not HD)
Wlan & ethernet
USB 2

http://communications.siemens.com/cds/fron...00.html#content

Here's a user forum (in German):
http://www.m740.info/index.htm

a babelfish translation:
"The innovative set Top box made possible not only the receipt of the digital terrestrial television, but can be merged beyond that by W-LAN or cable problem-free into the domestic network. So the recording can take place via wireless or by cables on the hard disk of a PC or an external USB hard disk. Owing to twin-Tuner thereby another program can be looked at than is recorded. In addition the new set Top box permits the Streaming of PC Media files (photo, video or audio) on the television."

All the site info is in German. Apparently the device does have English menus (as well as German) and some others.

An english version of that page is

An interesting product, I wonder why they're not marketing outside of Germany?

With no on-board hard disk, it's really more of an item for the tech-obsessives than the general consumer.

That said, the ability to easily and directly record to an external PC or drive via USB2 is enticing to me (and I'm sure many of us here!) and the lack of a dedicated hard disk should keep the cost down.

However, Siemens Australia doesn't appear to have a division for consumer entertainment gear, so it's unlikely we'll be seeing it here anytime soon.
