I have had this stb for about 3 weeks and have had no problems, till now, but lately I have found the sound & picture is breaking up a bit. A check reveals that it is not all channels and that it is not always the same channel. Is this box issue or a reception/aerial issue? It should be noted that I live in Brisbane and have had crystal clear reception until this problem.

Secondly, I have recorded about 10 hours with no problems but last night I found that recording froze and had to be stopped and restarted. At the same time the screen flashed up "Check HDD". Once restarted this did not reappear. Is this likely to be faulty box or is it is case that the HDD was reaching capacity and therefore stopping.

Thanks in advance.

I have this box for almost a year and have the same problems
timer recordings are failing regularly, whenever there is a signal breakup
I replaced my in-house antenna feed with another antenna, 5m of high grade coax directly to the box- same problem
I have given up and record all important things on S-VHS analog in parrallel
the problem could be short term fading (which I never see on the analog signal),
and/ or local interference from the mains, like washing machine, fridge switching on or off. but I doubt it. my signal is in the 75% range.
btw- the clock on that box has a life of its own, too- it insists it's yesterday!
