Hello all,
I recently purchased a 50" philips plasma and im watching the cricket thinking is the channel 9 watermark on the top RHS and constant green score card at the top LHS of the screen going to burn in? or am i worrying about nothing?

i don't there'll be a problem. the 'score' and 'watermark' are slightly translucent, so the pixels are actually changing colour constantly.

regardless, if you're really paranoid, simply turn the plasma 'off' after a period (eg: couple hours) and actually see if there's any sign of burn-in. i'd suspect not, in which case there's no problem.

how old's your plasma?

The ads give those pixels displaying the water mark and the score a "break" anyway and overs only last about 7-8 minutes, that isnt long enough to burn it in.

About 3 weeks old, its my 1st plasma and i've realised that the expense of going plasma didn't stop with the significant purchase price, i now realise how inadequate my DVD player is now!

Oh! ... by the way ... it doesn't stop with the DVD player. The bigger screen needs a 'bigger' sound - and that's when things start to get really expensive ... I suggest you don't think of wandering down that path!
