Could someone with a new Pioneer 505 advise me the minimum viewing distance using DVI/HDMI input for good quality viewing? I may have the chance of swapping my 434 for a 505. I have about 3.6m viewing distance at the moment. I understand there are tables and calculations available but I'd prefer to hear it from a 505 owner particulary running DVI/HDMI. Thanks to anyone in advance.

I guess that is me seeing that there is not many here with a 505. I use the HDMI/DVI input for TV, and I have a viewing distance of 2.8-3m. I find it a little too close, and I find that sitting behind the sofa gives me better quality picture. SO at 3.6m, it is about perfect! Go for the 505! You won't regret it.

Way,
The answer will depend on the commenting person's eyesight!

Search this strand for my last post. The number of lines in the image, whether it is progressive or interlaced, the height of the image and the eye's resolving power will determine the viewing distance.

The seating position should create an angle of +/- 30 degrees between the listener and the left and right speakers.
