any ideas? most of the topics I've found in here talk about the 76cm or below...

Looking for the best 80cm+ widescreen that comes under $1500 mark.. preferabley HD ready..

this might be of interest to some ppl, last night I did a measure on my friends 76cm widescreen tv to see how big the screen size is when running a normal 4:3 tv signal through it. Turns out to be 2cm less than my 68cm tv's diagonal viewing size. So thats why i want a greater than 76cm widescreen tv. yes i know most new formats are going to be widescreen, regardless majority of what i watch is 4:3

you won't get a 80+cm HD widescreen for under $1500. the closest you will come is the palsonic 86 which i have seen for around $1900.

Have a look at the Omni HD its around that price. It's HD as well! Takes WXVGA via RGBHV (VGA in) or component HD.

was during a run out sale at retravision in ringwood (victoria). was the 86wshda. i wasn't that impressed with the image (the 76wshd looked a lot better). there appeared to be a kind of slight shuddering to the image. could have just been the way it was setup though.

Yes the 76cm. Remembering its HD of course. I've seen it being sold including a HD STB for around $1495.
