Please beware that places quoting these prices do not own shop fronts and only run from internet sites

Got a price from here http://www.qsphere.com.au/ Whats wrong with buying a plasma from an internet shop?

Some of the 50" Plasmas are getting cheaper. Saw the current NEC model for $7,999.

E-Home IS a street retailer in Melbourne - and a very good one at that! - at 1066 Dandenong Road, Carnegie. Call Geoff there on 03 9563 5977.

The best thing about e-Home is their good relationship with NEC and some other suppliers - which means that Geoff arranges everything directly with the warehouse and seems to get things happening instantly.

See the NEC panels set up properly, discuss the best HT setup for your budget, then get outstanding after-sales service and advice as well. They ship all over the country and nearly all my orders (panel, stand, new main speakers, new centre speaker) have arrived the morning after ordering!

I'm not associated with them in any way other than as an exceptionally happy customer. By the way ... did I mention I'm in Brisbane and FED UP with the specialist retailers here!!!

I've never been to Melbourne. Maybey I should go for a little holiday smile.gif

Has anyone purchased from Quantum Sphere and if so what was the service like.

Garry, haven't bought from QSphere, but did use their price to drive down the cost of the plasma that I just ordered. Try also Elite Screens. Worth talking to these companies and telling them what you've got and then go back to the mob that you what to buy it from. Try Megamart ... they have a price matching policy and will throw in free Foxtel and interest free at the moment

Price is one side of the coin but if purchasing something of this value you would want backup service as well which is what you will not get from the likes of Mega Mart.

Have a chat to Geoff at eHome in Carnegie Melb they will offer you a fantastic price and will back it up with fantastic service

If this is not yet another one of those "commercial posts you have when you are not doing a commercial", the least you could do in this instance is provide "details" of how you know they will not get any service at Megamart or Elite Screens.

If these guys are happy with the places they know and deal with, why should they have to change to somewhere you went ?

I fail to see any comparison at all between the exceptionally high level of both knowledge AND service given by e-Home and the generally abysmal level of either knowledge OR service obtained from Megamart (or indeed, the sales droids at almost any retail chain). BTW, I have walked out of Megamart in disgust ... so I'm a harder sell than most on their levels of either.

However, I'm keen to hear you prove me wrong with some wonderful examples of how the Megamart experts steered you towards a fantastic product you hadn't previously considered ... even though you'd done lots of homework first ... and then followed it up with prompt understanding and a LOT of useful and free advice over the phone!

I buy a lot of my stuff from HN, JB and Betta Elec because they're nice people that offer me nice prices ... but I wouldn't even ask them for an opinion on which toaster to buy, let alone how I should best spend my $6,000 for a TV! (Actually, I stupidly did once and the result is described back here).

The purpose of these forums is for us to exchange information on the best cables, best STBs, best TVs, best speakers and best dealers ... so, why do you object to us mentioning the best retailer WE have found?

Simply add the name of the best one YOU have found, and why you think their knowledge and service is so exceptional!

Sorry, but it seems you have been sprung.
Anyone who has purchase from Elite Screens Australia (www.elitescreens.com.au) has had the full customer service from us, especially after sales. That is why we have clients such as Ch7, Coca Cola, Bank Of Queensland and plenty more. Seems like if you deal with some people (like this) out here, you wont be told the full truth smile.gif

Glenncol? Cat got your tongue? Please explain. I think you are misrepresenting your identity for commercial gain.
For the record, I bought an NEC 42" SD for $3500 from an internet retailer. Delivered in 2 days in perfect condition, zero dead pixels, looks fantastic. Very happy. It does however need a professional "tune" to get the best picture quality e.g. that guy in Perth that travels the country.

Get a life guys and get off glenncol's back.

- Yes, we know that he recommends ehome, but there is a good reason for that... they are a retailer who prides themselves on their service. He is not forcing you into the shop and locking you in until you buy something.

- He is just giving his opinion, as we all do... that is what a forum is all about.

- I suspect that glenncol has purchased significantly more AV gear than most of us here, so he is well qualified to make these opinions.

- As a forum noob, he has assisted myself and countless others with technical advice for no commercial gain.

- We all make recommendations when we receive good service/product, I have done so on many occassions.

Very Very well said Foghorn and could not agree more

For the drips that shall remain nameless there should be no issue for a person or persons that name a retailer who has offered great service that we can all benefit from.
From where i am sitting the people who get their noses out of joint are the retailers that are not getting a slice of the cake so its all to easy to try and discredit some to has offered a fair bit to this forum.

It might look like spam to you PVR Guy, but many others welcome a recommendation of where to buy.

I've seen many threads where n00bies come along and ask for this type of recommendation, and in all fairness, this is the context in which glenncoll usually mentions ehome.

PVR Guy, some may perceive your signature as being spam, but to me it's just another recommendation that I will consider if I were looking for that type of product.
:)
get over it you bunch of whingers.

Theres beeen plenty of times I too have posted on recommendations on product or retaillers infact I've even suggested to noobies to ask for peoples suggestions for good retaillers in their area.

nothing bloody wrong with that.

just like people post on their bad experience on here with a product or retailer theres nothing wrong with posting on a good experience or making a recommendation based on a good experience be it in relation to a product or a retailler.

And by the way last time one of these whingers had one of these whinge sessions I happened to dig out a post where they too were making a plug ! - they did not like that did they !

get over it guys

What I for one will not accept on this forum is blatant publicity/spam by a retailler or someone possing as a retailler. This isn't allowed on the forum and Coral has on many occassion shut down threads and delleted posts where this occurs. But from one of us users/consumers/forum members I see nothing wrong with making recommendations - In fact I appreciate it as it will help with the next product I buy or where I buy it from.

And I've only ever seen glencol post as a consumer on this forum and hence you bunch of whingers are way off line here. Obviously some axe to grind I think can't think of anyother reason behind it.

Now go back through the post and look for the questions asked ona good retailer you will find they fall in line.

Now being a plumber you should know damn well you need to keep that bucket closer to your mouth when talking s_ _ _

Yeh, that's the way Glenncol, you go on the attack and abuse him.  How dare he express his own views. Maybe he's a plummer that works for a retailer.

I dont see a need to report this at all

He is proud of owning this unit so be it so this aint an issue had the link been to Austrailian store or distributor this would be a different story

Two hats you are the one thats had the issue all the way along with me mentioning eHome at a place for good service

I have to ask why?

You have never once when i have asked told me the meaning behind the nick name twohats but i can guess why

Is it that you were pissed that your company name never got a mention?

Just as we're all waiting for you to show similar courtesy with a reply to this (and prior attempts to get an answer from you):
