I have had a Teac DV-B400 for a few months now and it has been an excellent receiver connected to both our SONY and NEC TV's. We have marginal ABC reception since they started Digital transmission from North Sydney and the DV-B400 has certainly fixed that.
The only thing that concerns me is that it runs very hot, even when switched off.
The specs show power consumption as about 18 watts when running and 2.5 watts when in standby, but it feels much greater in that the whole metal casing gets almost too hot to touch. It's in a well ventilated cabinet.
Has anyone else seen this kind of behaviour and is it fixable ?

Mine gets pretty warm, even when on standby, but in nearly two years hasn't shown any signs of distress.
I have it mounted by itself on a shelf by itself, sitting on three plastic milk bottle tops to give that extra bit of clearance all round for better ventilation..

Hi
This is off topic but I'm just wondering how this STB handles electrical interference? Does the sound pop/scratch like the DV-B420? I'm hunting for a STB that is silent when given interference to deal with.
Thanks

Mine's pretty good after I rewired with quad shield RG6 and put it on it's own antenna. Prior to that it was very bad, especially with washing machine and sewing machine, the latter made it unwatchable... OK now....
