Being a newbie to DVB I was considering a Thomson DTI500AU STB for $249 ( I have a prefernece for using s-video output ) and was wondering whether this is a good set or is there better for the money?

Cheers,
Rick-Hart's "Not the full quid" had them for $179.00 in North Bridge.
Last month I bought a new shop-soiled Thomson DTI352TH for $30.00 (thirty) from them.

I just bought a Strong 5390. Really happy with it. U can get the 5300 for $250. It is the same as the 5390 I believe, just without the hard drive.
Only had mine for a week, but more than hapy with the purchase.

anything by strong, topfield or teac. These seem to have less problems
