In the zip file, there should be a "SRT5300 Software Changes.doc" - that has the detail of the changes.
I have a 5200 and based on the document for that model, I haven't bothered to update the firmware.

Hello All.
A few weeks back I downloaded the latest firmware (dated within the readme "10/March/04') and installed it on my SRT 5300. Some of the cool features to come out of it were faster channel switching and the ability to set the clock.
BUT... Now on one of my channels (Southern Cross) sometimes displays "Bad or No Signal" when I switch to it. But if I go up or down a channel and then back to SCX it *may* work. It will also work if I leave it on that channel for a few minutes.... But the ironic thing is that SCX has the best signal and quality levels out of all the ones I have got.?!
Out of this experience, I have played around with my aerial, I have upgraded to F-Connectors (A slight signal improvement, but nothing major) and I have done full automatic and manual scans. I am also now running RG-6 quad shield coaxial cable,
When I finally do get SCX the picture is good, as is the audio with no (or very little) glitches.
So with that information, is there anyway I can get the older firmware that came on my SRT 5300, (I believe it was dated ?/September/2003) This would assist me with my trouble-shooting.
My dealer has tried to contact Strong for the older Firmware (as have I) and they haven't replied to either of us.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I've just upgraded my 5300 and noticed the new time setting 'feature' The unit will no longer grab the time from whatever channel it was last set to, nor will it display the correct time/time remaining for tv shows. I'm assuming that the time zone is out of whack, but now I have no idea how to change it, other than manually setting the time.
