3 weeks ago i bought LG 76cm Flatron widescreen tv. the screen is faded white on the right side, both corners and was beginning to spread. You can only see it when the screen is dark. It seems that colour is getting to the pixels, except black and is extremely annoying. Rang retailer (The good guys-penrith), they've never heard of anything like this apparantly.they organised a replacement which i got yesterday. The exact same thing has happened! Does anyone know what could be the problem? There are no speakers near the tv, only the digital stb.
I am very annoyed. What should i do?

I think with TVs you pay for what you get.
I purchased a LG tv recently and I was VERY disappointed. BUT it was the cheapest I could buy.

Get your money back ... then buy almost anything but an LG! (Check out TEAC if you're in the ~$1k range; buy a Panasonic 200A if you're at the <$2k mark; buy a Toshiba 32sw8ua if you're slightly over the $2k mark).

2i cents from a current* LG 76cm owner,
Ian

* Almost a former owner! (At least it's disconnected! - and currently makes a very large side table until I can shift it to the storage locker awaiting Christmas - at which time I will be donating it to the family member I dislike most).

Its taking all my strength to prevent me saying (in answer to "I bought an LG ... whats the problem?") ... "LG - thats the problem"! tongue.gif
If you can get a cash refund, or exchange for anything else - do so!
(Unless you drive an early model Hyundai, and think its the bees knees!) tongue.gif

Good grief! Beaten to it again! Another case of "warped minds think alike!"
Damn you Ian ... "By Grabthar's hammer I shall be avenged!" tongue.gif

Similar thing happened to me...

turned out my speakers were too close to the TV and this caused the corners to go funny in their colours due to magnetic interferance (even though I thought they were far enough away initally, I was wrong) huh.gif

Have recently been given a tv as described above - upon being turned on it comes up with a white background (screen size ajustable by remote) but with dark lines running diagonally across the screen.....then you can't do anything else with the tv and afer about ten seconds it turns itself off...........

Stereo speakers should be 2 metres apart (rule of thumb of forty years standing) anyway for proper stereo effect, apart from the need to be shielded for use with a TV.
Having successfully fought LG for three years to get a refund on my LaFinion 82W, I would also warn to avoid the brand where possible.
