It's that time of year again, when we start cranking up the old Telle in the garage (In most cases, because the other half doesnt like footy) But this year, it's a little different, and in some ways easier to keep a broadcast guide, really there's only 4 channels to keep tabs of, those being Channel Seven, 7mate, Fox Sports 1 and Fox Footy
Let's start with this week's NAB Cup Matches, Round 1 will go for two weeks and involve 3 teams playing on the one night, much like last year

Seven could'nt give a rats about quality. Mentality is they've paid so much for the rights that they are not obliged to worry about quality. What really pisses me off about 7 is the way they trumpet new game day technologies each year yet offer a standard def picture superimposed with a London fog. I wont be going near them this year - not a great fan of pay TV but if you want some quality pictures a Foxtel or Austar Sports HD package for about $80 a month is the way to go.

G'day DansDans,
Well, I dont think we'll need to worry about MainEvent, Channel Ten, WIN in Griffith or W.A. this year at all. Unless there's something unusual I dont know about
I'll be keeping the regionals list well informed, but this NAB Cup seems to be all Pay TV until the Grand Final, when the first Free To Air broadcast comes

Maybe they still think no one knows the difference. On another forum some idiot posted that 7 was in HD on their new plasma!

Interesting to note that Fox Footy's graphics are very much different to what Seven would have
If Seven get a clean feed from Fox Footy in those states where the local team is on Pay TV, wouldn't that score graphic look majorly out of place in the middle of the screen?

The graphics are very slick, didnt expect that from Fox Footy - the only issue is the font size is tiny

Rather it be small than too big, like the fox sports logo of last year.
Edit.. GO BOMBERS!!!!

Wheelz and McAudio,
i rang 3aw last week and asked the TV reporter for the age if 7 was doing the footy in HD.
The answer was NO
So here we go again.
Paul.
Edit grammar.

How do you figure a TV "reporter" for the Age on 3AW would have any idea what Ch7 is doing?

And that includes the Grand Final - what a friggin disgrace they are. Some of the blame must also fall on the AFL - the rights agreement doesn't stipulate HD so seven wont do it.
Its mindboggling - we go the whole year watching AFL hd on Foxtel including practice matches (NAB Cup) played before wifes and girlfriends, yet the big one is not in HD. Figure that out.
