Hi Guys,
So from time to time I add and delete movies to my E drive which is what my PS3 looks at so I can stream from my PC to my telly.
I have just noticed that even if I delete a file from the E drive, the PS3 still thinks it is there. How can it be?

I am trying to get my movie library organised and deleting the crap but as far as the PS3 goes, I cant.
Any ideas?

I thought it might have been related to Vuze but I have deleted the program and there is still no change.

I think you'll find it has to do with the library/database it uses to keep track. I would guess there is some way to refresh it, perhaps a full shutdown and reboot of the associated streaming program?

I worked it out finally. Fair dinkum, it's always the last thing you check.

The link between my PC and PS3 is Windows Media Player 11. It has it's own library even though it's source of material is the E drive. Deleting files from E drive does not update WMP11, meaning you have to delete twice, from the PC and from WMP11.
Clumsy but hey that's how it is.
Crisis over

Windows media player is also very slow at adding files I've noticed, not just deleting.

This happens to me also.  I have searched for days for a solution to get real-time updates through Windows Media Player on Windows 7 so the video library updates to show on the PS3, but I have found NO solution:(  It only seems to update if I turn off my Laptop + Ps3 and turn on again, which is a real pain:(

the ps3 directory can also be refreshed by re-searching for media servers.

Is WMP fairly PS3 compatible these days? I use PS3 media server. Im not a great computer nerd, but find PS3 Media Server easy to use.
