I have an old Kogan SD TVI keep in my PC room for watching cricket and races while i explore the interwebs. So of course because it was only SD I don't get those other FTA channels like GEM, One, etc.

I know I could get a TV card for my PC, or a STB, or even a new cheap TV to replace it, but being an inquisitive dabbler in trying to fix things myself has led me to wondering if there is some sort of pcb or card or something i could swap out or change in the back to enable me to view these channels?

Does anyone know of anything 'after market' and where i could get it. Or even is it possible?

Morton
You have two options
  • Buy an HD set top box which will show you HD programs in SD. Cost around $50
  • Buy an HD TV. This is all that is available new in the shops. I bought a 38 cm HDTV for $89 just prior to Christmas.
These days consumer electronics are made as disposable items and spare parts are hard to come by. Even worse try and get a circuit!
