apparently LG has confirmed they will be bringing out a 55" oled for CES in 2012. whcih is only a week or so away.

OLED ofcourse overcomes a lot of the drawback of LCD. Good to see a maker get serious with the technology in a decent size for display.

Meaningless without some form of price road map.....probably 3-4yrs from being affordable, unless one is comfy spending 5k+ on a relatively small TV.

Good news.  It will overcome a lot of the drawbacks of both plasma and lcd.

We've got the Joneses to thank for spending $10k+ on a 42" plasma. Harsh call labelling early adopters meaningless...

Dude, 6 years ago, my 40" 1080p Samsung LCD retailed for $5299 - I got it cost price for $3666, but still... I was willing to shell the cash for the goods, but I don't think everyone is willing to cough up that much for tech.
