Also how well does the wireless HD video work, any problems with it?

I gave up on mine after a coupla days and went back to using a cable. Why? It simply took too long to sync. Not a problem, I'm sure, with a regular BD/DVD player but with my media box, I would lose sync constantly as I jumped around from file to file, testing the projector out. I spent more time waiting than actual watching.

Still, might wanna see if others have had the same problem before you take my only word for it. Could be a case of incompatible equipment or some such nonsense. Anyone?

hi
I am looking at getting either the TW6000 or the TW6000W. I am wondering if the 6000W is worth the extra price, the other spec's seem to be the same.

Thanks

the wireless hd works a treat. keep in mind with the 6000 model apparently there is no lens shift. that is a major drawback and unless work out some other means to perfectly setup your pj to screen - I would suggest consider going for the 8000 of higher model instead :) dont think the 8000 has wireless though. and if that not so important and neither is 3D a requirement then one of the older pjs in the 3200/3600/5500 might be a better buy.

As :  ) mentioned, no lens shift on the TW6000, so that means significant limitations on mounting (and requirement for accuracy) unless you want to use keystone, which is an abomination.  Have you checked the GB price on the TW9000W?

After reading the replies to my first post, I may be looking at the 9000W.
I have a low ceiling and not to much room to set things up, so may require lens shift to get the setup I require.

Go here and get your post count up to 5.  Then you'll be able to send/receive PMs.

Has anyone managed to output a 3D bluray on a computer to the tw9000W using the wireless connection?

I have an amd HD7000 series graphics card with the hdmi 1.4 and WinDVD player and can't get it to output the correct 3D signal. 2D signals are fine and it seams that the computer can't detect that there is a hdmi 1.4 device connected. If I connect to projector directly through a cable then everything works as expected, so it looks like the rf transmitter is the problem.

Um, WOW!  Picked my 9000 up today. I don't have a screen yet and projecting on a wall is even amazing. I think I had rather low expectations for some reason. This thing is truly fantastic! Thanks again for the GB.

The only minor "issue" I encountered when I first turned it on was that the image looked a lot softer on one side. I messed with the settings for a few minutes before I realized the lens was a bit grotty. Not finger prints. Looked like some remnant from sticky tape or the likes. A gentle wipe with a lense cloth and problem solved. Must have been from tape used on the lense cover or something like that.

I'm looking for a reliable reseller to buy a couple of pairs of Panasonic TY-EW3D3ME 3D glasses from. Apparently these work with the Epson projector.

I've found some resellers on eBay (not sure about their credibility of getting the legit version), and Amazon, but Amazon says they won't ship to my default address. :(

Has anyone bought any of these, and if so what size Small, Medium, or Large?

The Panasonic glasses are much more comfortable than the Epsons and are rechargeable via USB.

I got medium and they fit my 58cm head.  I don't have to wear other glasses underneath.

Purchased mine fom HN so I can't help with a reliable EBay seller.

(500 hours up on my TW9000W!)

spearmint I dont know what all the product codes stand for, but I bought an panasonic avatar 3D full hd starter kit. and it came with 3D avatar and 2 pairs of "light weight usb rechargeable eyewear (TY-EW3D3MW) Medium". and they medium size and quite light weight. less bulky than the epsons and completely compatible. If wearing glasses though the epsons are a better pick.

anyways from this crowd here, maybe an alternative if hn cant help.
http://www.videopro.com.au/
was cheaper than buying the glasses on their own and got avatar for free.

a local professional review here of the 9000W from Stephen Dawson published in sound and image magazine :)

http://www.avhub.com...tor/Page-1.html

the conclusion sums up pretty well I think :)

Quote

Conclusion

So there you have it: the Epson EH-TW9000W is a versatile AV projector with excellent 2D performance and, perhaps surprisingly, very good 3D performance as well. All that would be well and good, especially considering the WirelessHD capabilities, but I have two more things to add.

First, the projector’s warranty period is three years, which actually includes the lamp. And, second, the projector’s RRP is just under $4000. That makes it cheaper than just about all the competition. Incredible. Stephen Dawson

Verdict

Epson EH-TW9000W 3D AV projector

Price: $3999

Pros
  • Exceptional value for money
  • WirelessHD connection
  • Extremely good 3D performance

Cons
  • Some noise from dynamic iris

Projection technology: 3 x 18.8mm Polysilicon TFT active matrix LCD panels
Resolution: 1920 by 1080 pixels
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Lamp: 230W UHE-E-TORL
Lamp life: 4000 hours
Contrast ratio: 200,000:1 (Dynamic)
Brightness: 2400 lumens
Inputs: WirelessHD (1 x HDMI on transmitter), 2 x HDMI, 1 x component video, 0 x S-Video, 1 x composite video, 1 x D-SUB15
Control: 1 x RS-232C, 1 x External 3D IR port, 1 x trigger
Dimensions (whd): 466 x 140 x 395mm
Weight: 8.5kg
Warranty: Three years (Three years on lamp)

Reinforces the ownership satisfaction certainly Al  ; whats even better I bet its dated before the 104 firmware too :) Only thing Ide query is this;

Yet it somehow managed to avoid interfering too badly with other IR remotes, allowing their continued use.

Not my oppo or pre pro ; had to ditch my xantech repeater block ;the ir really floods the room .so point directly is the go now

yes I agree re IR with 3D for the glasses definitely floods the room. maybe depends how have pj and other components positioned. maybe a good reason to go RF for those that find an issue !

Good suggestion Al ; I suggested that to the installer after he tried the 3rd ir frequency but we cut our losses as it would be hard to source the hardware for an old pronto [ MarkH's :o ] .Shoved the components  further into the cabinet .All replaced now with 2 $30 harmony 650's ; I for the projector another for the pvr's and lcd . Loads of fun configuring them on the pc ;very happy as have always liked hard buttons  .an absolute bargain

Hi guys, just seeing if anyone else has had the problem of the "Auto Iris Error" with the TW9000. The iris has been squeaking for a while then last night came up with "Auto Iris Error contact nearest Epson Service Agent". It had to be shut down. I'm off to Electron Flow in Melbourne tomorrow to have it looked at.
