200 hours is nothing that's near new with heaps of warranty. Rrp is 4k. Would think $2.5k-$3k as opening price. Price is a difficult thing as just depends who's out there looking what willing to pay :)

Personally I don't bother with tyre kickers, low ballers and vultures much here. You can do here and ebay. The price is your call. Ofcourse people buying might want to pay the very least and score a bargain !

Okay, so does anyone remember my situation? Got a dust blob, Epson sent me to a service agent, the service agent failed to remove it, service agent then replaced the optical block but gave me the wrong projector back, finally sorted that out and got mine back but the colours were munted so Epson got me to send the projector directly to them....

So I got it finally got it back today. Colour was great. No dust blobs.

...but the lens shift was stuffed. In the neutral position, the image was located way down and to the extreme left. Adjusting it all the way up, the top of the image was barely in line with the lens. I was devastated. And miffed. But mostly devastated. On the advice of the ACCC, I contacted the original retailer - namely, Matt at The Cable Connection.

Within seconds, he was onto it, drafting an e-mail to Epson, summarizing my experience and requesting a replacement unit.

Now, a couple of hours later, Epson have come back and made what I consider to be a very agreeable offer:

They're willing to replace my 11 month old TW9000 with a refurbished TW9100 with low hours AND a free replacement lamp. I do believe I'll take it.

I really have to thank Matt @ The Cable Connection for being my knight in shining armour, here, and Epson for never shirking their responsibility and ultimately taking very good care of me. Despite the set backs, they were never anything less than co-operative. As long as you go through Epson Australia, via their website, and avoid the overseas support line, you're guaranteed to get a pro-active response.

So, things are looking up!

good stuff CF, yeah with new consumer laws you really only have to work with dealer with any issues, you dont have to be going pillar to post with manufacturer and service centres etc. good to hear things come to satisfactory conclusion. hopefully no more dramas so you can just enjoy it for what it is :)

Thanks guys (re: my replacement projector). I just have to tell you that I received the new unit and the thing is tip top - however I didn't get the wireless model, as anticipated. I let Epson know, and said that I'd accept it anyway. So this morning I found out that they've already gone ahead and sent me a TW9100W and are happy for me to confirm all is well before sending the other two back! Wow. How's that for service?

well... I think I could do better~ ^ ^

when I signed up with my cable internet provider, Optus I also signed up for their fetchTV called, MeTV.
They promptly sent me two boxes. @__@ And when neither of them would connect upon firing up they sent one more box which seemed to work.

However after 7 months of watching out of blue the box refused to connect to the server rendering it as piece of plastic thingy. Anyhow after gone through with their tech support and billing both sides sent me two new boxes each and none of them would work.
Eventually after 4 weeks of dealing with both side the tech support sent one more box which they already activated and tested and finally it worked.

now I have seven boxes sitting in the garage gathering the dust and they haven't provide me how to returning the lot and I'm certainly not going to return seven boxes on my expense either.
since they haven't charge me for none of boxes, I'm planning to dump the lot next time my local council has the clean up days unless I hear from them - which I doubt ever happen...

Epson will arrange pick up for the other two units, at their own expense. I've just gotta pack them up and have them ready for the courier at a pre-determined date/time. I can't ask for much more than that.

They've also thrown in an additional two pairs of 3D glasses to sweeten the deal. Bonza!

Just been catching up on the news and have a question.

Have been really enjoying the TW-9000 in my lounge room and have finally built a dedicated theatre, "bat cave" which I will move it to shortly until 4K is more affordable I am happy to keep using the Epson. I am however moving from my 100" screen to a new AT scope setup. I'm looking to future proof and go as big as possible, my current thinking speaking to OZTS is to look at the 140" which would make 16:9 viewing slightly bigger than what I currently have, but then expand out for scope.

The new room is 5.7m long and 4.01m wide. I'm thinking of putting the false screen wall at 70cm into the room, but could bring it back a bit more. The projector will be at the back of the room, my guess it would be no more than 50cm from the back. Allowing for a couple of centimetres for the screen I am looking at 4.47 - 4.48 cm throw, I am sure I can eek out a few more by pushing the projector or screen wall back slightly.

The room is completely light controlled so my question is has anyone got a similar setup and how are you finding it, I don't feel like I need huge brightness, and I only run the unti at ECO + THX and the THX 3D mode also, can't stand the noise of the higher lamp modes although I put up with it for 3D.

Or should I par it back to a 135 - 130??? False wall goes up monday so I appreciate feedback, I am also going to look at moving it out tomorrow just to see how it looks with white calico, but will be a bit of a pain to arrange, but feels like it will be necessary.

Cashflag, glad to hear you got your issue sorted, how are you finding the 9100?

Matthewa, I have a very similar room to you, (5.8m Long 4m Wide,{Bat Cave Room})and we use a 145" 16:9 OZTS screen. We have no problem with 2D or 3D material.
The unit runs with ECO + THX for 2D and for THX for 3D.

The only issue you might have is your front speakers placements as for us I bel we have about 25-35cm each side of the screen to place our front speakers. It would depend how wide your speakers are and if you place them on a angle.

Hope this helped.
