I would also like to put my name down depending on price.
Tossing up between this and the Panasonic :)

Ditto for me.

Seems our 9000 model is the equivalent of the pro cinema 6010 without the all black casing.  I like this because it has the THX modes as well as 2 anamorphic lens modes V-stretch and H-squeeze so that 16:9 can be watched without manually moving the lens out of the way.

Gee Art is very impressed. This guy is the best reviewer in the business. Goes through every detail with a fine tooth comb.

Seems like the 9000 will be the projector to beat in its price range.

Wonder if CFI is available in 3D? Said they were working on it to get it right b4 release. Am aware the lower model range lacks it.
But hey given my viewing will predominantly be 2d the great black levels on  this PJ make it a winner. I was very impressed with 2d image on the new 6000.
Again 3yr wty on pj and the bulb is pretty rare these days.

im pretty keen aswell, still cant decide on this or the panny?? My viewing would consist of 60% movies (2d) 40% games. 3d is just a bonus for me, not sure how much i will like it but if its good i could see myself watching a bit of it.

Both are very capable PJ's but from what I have been reading the Epson 9000 may have the edge especially for black levels and 2d performance. Jury out for Epson 3D but Pana has proven it can do it very well.
End of the day it is your choice.

Definitely mine as well. Like my 3d TV I watch more 2d on it. I prefer 2D I suppose it is what you are used to however have enjoyed many 3d presentations but I find I am focusing too much on the 3D effects and don't concentrate on the story line.

I will know stock availability early next week hence the wait for all other details, what I can say now is that once again pricing is confidential and will at no time be published, those that do go ahead once full details are known will be required to pay in full so as to secure their PJ immediately, those who blink will more than likely miss the bus....... B)

PS: have not forgotten your VS question vieira, am awaiting an answer........

I'm going to have another squiz at the 6000w on display at local HT store. Interested in how 9000w  performs but  6000w is only avail. will check out wireless Full HD in more detail also contrast levels.

Manual zoom and focus on the Epson, so that's a no.

Do post your thoughts.  Have a squiz at the black levels and shadow detail.

Have my doubts about the cfi Crist as the model below is 2d only according to the following review by Art ;but considering this review of the 5010 [which at a guess is our 8000- fuginon lens/hdmi wifi] this is swaying me from the panny;optoma and sony for sure  ;)  Very nice comparison with the pana's 2d black levels say no more..

Some nice screenshots on pg3  -_-  Very interested in the details Neil :)

Thanks CWT
also impressed with these comments re contrast in 2D

Epson Home Cinema 5010 Black Levels & Shadow Detail

In 2D this Epson Home Cinema 5010, has the best black levels we've seen, short of some JVC projectors that start not far below $8000! That's pretty impressive considering it's about 1/3 the price. (That's like a Toyota Camry performing rivaling a BMW 7 series). The dynamic iris, which has two modes is one of the best ones out there, in terms of not being noticeable, except rarely, further, Epson really pushes the range of the iris, part of their trick to unmatched blacks using a dynamic iris.

The other aspect is that the Epson LCD panels C2Fine, D9 - their newest, inherently have rather impressive black level/contrast, even without using the iris.

Hey mate it appears the answer is no, that said we have one confirmed for demo at the GTG next week and this will allow us to tweak and play as necessary and give a conclusive answer....... B)

Thanks Yorac 2D is more important but it would have been a nice to have, but by all means do mess around with it at the GTG - pls check that the anamorphic modes work for 2D !

Howdy all,

I'm another dude that's interested in the GB subject to price & versus the Panasonic.

I've been a very Happy Epson tw700 owner for many years but it's time to upgrade. I really hope Epson have done something about dust blob prevention with this new range!
