I've got a Pure Highway, which works well in Melbourne especially when I'm driving under the tram lines. But when will CityLink install repeaters for digital radio in the tunnels??

rlube,
Commercial Radio Australia is currently investigating installing leaky RF cable system to carry DAB+ signals. The easiest way is to receive a good signal filter and amplify the three transmitter channels and then feed them down the cable. It becomes harder if you wish to interrupt broadcasts for emergency messages for 31 separate program channels.

This means that there must be 3 DAB+ encoders and DAB+ "transmitters" which can be switched in as required. All receivers are designed to switch from the selected program to an emergency message automatically.

I don't know which tunnel will be trialled first.
