And no ad breaks at all
Don't mind Origin on a 3 hour delay in Perth as long as it is in native and crystal clear HD. I am happy.

Interesting that they even posted that. They currently have an average bitrate of around 3.0 Mbps.
Given that Ovation is disappearing soon on the same transponder it looks like Setanta will buy the extra spare bandwidth. Ovation is currently using ~ 3.1 Mbps so assuming Setanta takes the lot it will look a hell of a lot better at 6 Mbps!

I don't see the point in watching sport delayed.
What matters is how it's shown live!
Granted, Foxtel don't have the live broadcast rights to the SOO. I just don't see delayed HD broadcasts as a reason to be happy paying for Foxtel..

Similar situation coming up with 7s coverage of this year's AFL grand final, although there's no point in watching the delayed telecast on Fox Footy HD as it will be upscaled!

If that happens, it'd be due to the increasing pressure on them through the season. Not something they'd planned on doing pre-season (unless there's proof of them claiming it?).

Massive call. I'm a bombers fan, & can't see us making it that far. You might have to make do with a win over the pies.
(I might buy that BD too)..

I'm a Bombers fan also, but the way things are going you may have to beat Adelaide. (Unfortunately!)

11886V 27800 kS/s: London 1-8 SD channels (4 Mbps video each)
11969V 29455 kS/s: London 1-8 HD channels (also 4 Mbps each BUT with 13.3 Mbps of null packets that still haven't been allocated so this will no doubt change)
Interestingly they haven't bothered this time to have a separate mosaic tile channel showing all 8 channels at once. It would be a waste of bandwidth if they did.
In any case, the bitrates I predicted are there and they've gone and squeezed 8 HD channels onto a single transponder for the first time. No doubt it will be done to other transponders in the future when viewers accept that the London Olympics HD channel quality is what HD "looks like" on Foxtel.
