Surprised to see the movie being in 1.78:1, Especially since Thor, Captain America, Incredble Hulk and both Iron Man's were in 2.37:1

I’m a bit sick of comic book films but Joss Whedon is keeping me interested. Not a big Buffy fan but adore Firefly. Serenity is fantastic and easily the best space-adventure of the last decade. So he is definitely good with an ensemble cast.

I like how they are linking all the previous films into one and use the same actors etc. Plus I am a sucker for high volume LFE eye candy...

Hm not sure I like it being in 1.78... maybe that's just the trailer being cropped or something - 2.35 would be logical since all the other films are 2.35.....

Also is the film shot in 3D or will it be another lame conversion?

I remember Mark Ruffalo saying it isn't being shot in 3D whether or not that means we'll get a post-conversion we'll only know at a later date I guess. Lets cross or fingers for 2D only.

Going by IMDB it is 1.78:1, that was my first thought too, thinking the trailer may have been cropped

It has happened before. And the imdb AR doesn't mean much currently since that could have been just updated by those who have watched the trailer....

The only problem i see is that each persons indavidual fave won't have enough screen time, so it'll need to be 3hrs long.

Thor you can miss
Cap was semi ok
I haven't been impressed with another of these Marvel films to be honest
But did enjoy the first Spider-Man a lot as well as X-Men First Class but they arent connected

Saw this today before work. Very entertaining and will make one hell of a Blu-Ray. Get your subwoofers ready for this one as it will be amazing if it's done right. A bit slow at the start which was needed to introduce the characters to those that haven't seen the other Marvel movies. If there was one negative for me it was the threat which didn't seem to be, well threaterning. With the amount of screen time Ironman gets it may get mistaken for Ironman 3 which isn't a bad thing. For me the best character would have to go the the Hulk, and imo they have got him perfect. Some great humour when needed all at the right places and each character gets their screen time and they work well as a team. Great action and some awesome scenes which will become demo material for sure.

Bring on Avengers 2.

Yes, just saw it at V MAX, WOW brilliant, there was a thousand ways they could have stuffed this up but they finest it well, not too many cheesy one -liners they humanized the characters. Yes,HULK is now my new all time favorite.........The special effects will be the new reference material to sell home-theater systems................  how good will this look on Blu Ray..................

Good to hear you enjoyed the movie. Now for those that are going to see this, it is worth sticking around just before the main credit roll. There is no need to stay until the main credits end.

For those that aren't comic book readers you wont understand who or what you see but for those that do well you are in for a treat. I for one cannot wait until the sequel.

Saw it last night - loved it. Some good gags amongst the action too. Special Effects are right up there.

Very well done. This should be a reference BD for sure.
