Hard to say.. WRT to just surge arrestor boards I used to choose the one giving me the insurance that will cover my equipment in case of lightning strike (i.e. more cover = more expensive)... Involves some paper work as well (don't loose receipt, etc, YMMV as it depends on the product)...

These days I'm just going for a filter board, the surge protection features I don't care so much anymore...

This is because I disconnect all my A/V equipment when there is a chance of a thunderstorm (unplug power plug and A/V anntenna from the wall). That to me is active safety, hopefully more reliable than relying on a surge arrestor alone for equipment protection.

I'm using this PSAudio Quintet at the moment...

It's pretty expensive though, ~$400AUD from HK.

It is actually a surge arrestor as well - that small thingy with the IEC socket and apparently is user replaceable (Surge arrestors typically only works once)... But I didn't buy it for that purpose....

These threads may help you find the right one that suits you.

Don't know about best bet but I'm happy with my choice especially as it involves insurance cover provided I have everything connected correctly, it's the Belkin listed in my sig file.
