WIN are fast becoming an absolute joke IMHO...not only do we have do endure the worst example of "watermarking" you've ever seen, but we also get screwed out of watching the cricket!

Was it the same for WIN viewers elsewhere?

WIN Albury did the same. Pathetic but not surprising.

And that enormous hot pink WIN/GEM watermark???????

Well tonight WIN Perth have sunk to new lows.
Got home to watch the Indian run chase on Gem (which is delayed to begin with).
Thought well at least i'll get to watch some reasonable HD cricket (not a patch on the Foxtel highlights package but better than SD)
It's upscaled rubbish.
Talk about you can't polish a turd.
The SD coverage is way peferable to this.
But not only is the picture rubbish.
It has dissapeared on occasions leaving a grey screen but also the sound has been just static half the time I have been watching.
Surely doesn't the three hour delay give them a chance to fix up all these sound issues??
WIN (well we knew it already anyway) but God you suck.
End of rant :angry2: :angry2: :angry2:

Agree, was absolute rubbish. I thought it was just WIN's handy work here in Western Vic, but the replay on Fox wasn't much better - the image looked "ghosted" for want of a better description. The wickets and anything with vertical lines in it was shimmering more than an oasis in the Sahara desert!

You can not polish a turd...and on this occasion, they couldn't even roll it in glitter!

In my annoyance last night i was trying to think of a phrase to describe the picture.
This sums it up beautifully.

Even on VAST it was poor (not a patch on the last India v Sri Lanka game). Trouble is for the vast (no pun intended) majority of people, HD is completely off the radar; most don't understand or appreciate a good hd picture.  I've lost count of the number of times when I provide a demo by comparing one of Austar's crappy sd services with the equivalent hd channel (and I'm careful to choose one of the few that are not overly affected by compression), I get a response along the line, "i can't really tell much difference".

Overseas, it seems completely different, eg South Korea has mandated that all FTA channels must be broadcast in 1080i by 2015, MPEG 4 and all that stuff, NZ produce beautiful hd, etc,  yet here in Australia there seems to be an apparent indifference to the crap that is currently being dished up by the FTAs.

Someone posted on another forum that the SL v India game was broadcast in SD as there were no HD trucks available in Hobart last night.

When you have the responsible minister publicly bragging about what a brain-wave he had giving us multi-channeling what hope does HDTV in this country really have. He happily sits in Canberra totally clueless while the FTA networks squeeze every last dollar out of their 7Mhz while pumping out some of the worlds worst PQ.
