I still think you should give them a chance to work things out. Who knows, in a few weeks time we might actually have every game in "brilliant HD"

Who knows how Ch7 work...
I am hopeful, one thing about Demetriou, when something gets up his nose he usually gets his way

Unfortunately this week he has far too many important things to worry about than this...

Back to the same quality shite Se7en served up for the start of round 1...*sigh*

Although it seems that they're now talking after a goal is kicked, so there's some change at least...baby steps

Very disappointing. Thought they'd at least stick to the improved quality of round 2.........

(Thanks for the info).

Ess v Port looked as bad as the first few games.

HD from Subiaco looks nice.

HD on all 3 Fox games today has been very nice indeed.

As far as the 7 matches go, maybe a slight improvement in the Coll v Rich game PQ wise over this arvo, which isn't saying much. Obviously BT missed the memo on the after goal talky talky...silence came the stern reply!

Hopefully it's a quieter week next week at AFL HQ and they can get down to the real stuff of giving us all of our footy in HD! :D

Yep - this is their routine...........film the game in HD, then downscale to SD for their main channel, then pass this downscaled feed to Fox for Fox Footy who then upscale on their HD channel..............pathetic isn't it.

Personally, if Se7en decide to give Foxtel the HD feed, I'll sign up to PayTV, so they'll lose me as a viewer (even though I wasn't going to be watching many games due to their coverage, commentary, picture, & sometimes delayed games).

I suspect I wouldn't be the only one contemplating this?

Yep, so even though you may not get Foxtel, you are still going to be pissed with 7 airing a substandard product.

So what are they gaining again? More people saying how crap they are!

And what was with the Kirk 'saturday afternoon football' rant yesterday on their coverage, that was a bloody joke. They have lost the plot, showing replays in super slo-mo so you miss the live action.........it goes on and on......

It's more about what they'd lose - more people moving across to PayTV from Se7en (& hence loss of ratings). They're protecting their investment......which is a loss to us fans who want to make the most of our big screen HDTVs.

I was at the game so this is the first I've seen of it, how bad is the quality of today's game? It's like it was filmed on a phone

Great game and every piece of vision we see of it till the end of time will be in glorious SD, what a disgrace that is.

That's no issue for me, I'll never be watching it again! Getting damn sick of losing to Geelong by less than a goal

Consider their investment well and truly lost

Ratings suggest less than 600K australia wide watch Hawthorn V Geelong on FTA yesterday - back when Ch 10 used to screen that game, it would make the Top 10, even though it was out of ratings period and delayed by 1 hour in Melbourne

Alternatively, 336,000 watched the Fox Footy simulcast on Foxtel, live, making it the No 1 show on Pay TV yesterday

Ch 7 - you've lost this already, 2 rounds in....

If Channel 7 are not showing in hd when they can, doesn't that send people to Foxtel, where five games are in hd and the rest are upscaled? I can't see the point of 7's tactic.

Depends on what people want to pay for. For me, most of the Essendon games I want to watch, more than any others, wont even be in HD on Foxtel, so it's a waste of money to pay for less than a premium service regarding the games I'm most interested in.

Just called Foxtel for an update on the Se7en/Foxtel discussions.......All they said was that when the agreement was signed, Foxtel were under the impression they were going to get the 4 AFL games from Se7en in HD & that discussions would be happening in regards to this..

Not sure how they can claim that as 7 said when the rights were announced they wont be doing HD and kim said fox will upscale those games so fox have known all along.

The first I heard of Foxtel not doing games in HD was just before the season started when their CEO stated in on SEN radio. Before then, & since the rights announcement last year, Se7en wouldn't confirm nor deny it.

As for what Kim said about Fox upscaling those games, I'm assuming he mentioned this just prior to the season also (& not when the rights were agreed upon)?
