I jumped on to say the same, didnt see much last night but this looks alot better than last Saturday nights game?
EDIT: Looking at the replay, this isn't bad at all tonight, if every seven game looked like this it'd be bareable.

Secondly, Fox Footy's advertising campaign has centred on promoting the channel as giving viewers the opportunity to watch AFL games in high definition.
However, the dispute with Channel Seven has not allowed the pay-tv station to show the simulcast game in HD to this stage.
According to Demetriou, both he and the people at Fox Footy only became aware of the issue not too long ago.
"On that other issue of HD, I only found out about it the other day."
"Again it doesn't seem to be in the spirit with what was agreed [upon] and hopefully some common sense can prevail there too.
"Let's hope we can all sit down and break bread and sort it out."
Amazing, Demetriou might be good something at last...

Here's something else from The Age this morning:
http://www.theage.co...0331-1w5js.html
Apparently there are technical issues they are working on....rubbish, 7 have just been surprised by the level of complaints.
Let's hope they can sort their technical issues soon and release the HD signal...
Cheers

Yep, there has def been an improvment since those first 2 games.
Lets hope Fox end up with a HD feed. it's good that both the commentary and HD issue are both in the news, not just on forums.

Except that Fox insiders have been telling us all as early as late late year that the Ch7 games were going to be upscaled. They didn't find out "not long ago".

Fox is also angry that its feed from Seven is not in HD. The pay television provider had spruiked that all nine matches it showed - including five of its own - would be in HD.
It's understood Seven's Melbourne boss, Lewis Martin, and AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan, have discussed the problem.
"We're always working with the AFL towards the best outcomes for all fans and this is part of our daily discussions,'' a Seven spokesman said.
Fox executives have refused to comment publicly, but privately question Seven's motives.

Though I'm still reading info stating Se7en aren't filming in HD. Do we have any official word (or pictures of these supposed HD trucks at the ground)?

I've never seen channel 7 say 'every game in stunning HD'.

The real issue here is none of us "arm-chair experts" actually have any idea about the inner workings of what is going on with this deal.
Sure, we can see that right now Fox Footy are provided with SD feeds of live games - what we dont, and wont, know is if there was an initial contract or gentlemans agreement in place that promised Foxtel the FTA Ch7 games in HD - do you honestly think Foxtel would advertise all games being in HD if they werent initially confident (due to, in part, an agreement - perhaps?) that all games would be provided to them in HD?
As much as the critics here like to bag out Foxtel and claim they could do a better job with their hands tied and blindfolded, I'm pretty sure Foxtel have a better idea of what is really going on than we do - and certainly more that what is being reporting in mainstream media (strangely none of these stories are appearing in the Herald-Sun, coincidence?)
I would expect this all to be worked out rather quickly

They advertise Carling Cup games as being 'live in HD' when some of them clearly weren't, they advertise their '5 live' NRL games as being 'live in HD' when the games from Townsville aren't, they claimed the swimming series when Thorpe made his comeback was in HD when it wasn't.
No 'arm-chair expert' is claiming to know what is going on behind the scenes, the simple fact is that Foxtel has been bombarding us with '9 games live in brilliant HD' all summer and this is a stone faced lie, and even now that the AFL itself has said the channel 7 games aren't HD, Foxtel are still promoting all games as being 'live in HD'.

I still think you should give them a chance to work things out. Who knows, in a few weeks time we might actually have every game in "brilliant HD"
Who knows how Ch7 work...
