Last night when I tried to turn off the projector the "stand by" indication came on as usual but then when I pressed the remote button again it would not shut down properly. A dim light remained on within the lens but no picture, the lens protector did not close. None of the external 3 indicator lights on the projector were on. None of the buttons on the remote or projector would work. So I unplugged it from the mains and in a few minutes restored power. The red standby light on the projector illuminated and when the standby button was pressed the projector worked again. I was able to turn it off normally in due course and all appeared OK. However tonight it did the same thing when I tried to turn it off and I had to do another full reboot!. It only happens when I try to turn it off on the second press of the standby button. Wondering if this is a known issue or if anybody else has experienced similar. Appreciate any comments or advice. I'll also try JVC support tomorrow and see what they say.

JVC advised to update the firmware to V1.3 - which I did but didn't solve the problem. The rep said they haven't come across this issue in Australia. I noticed that UK and USA are up to firmware V1.5 for the X3. The same problem as mine has been reported on UK and USA boards. Looks like it will have to go to the service centre.

Hi David1
I know this is a bit of an old post but I'm having a similar problem. Did you get yours sorted out?

Might be quicker to send David1 a PM - he hasn't been on the forum since 25 May - he'll get an e-mail that you've sent a PM.

JVC just replaced the projector. There was no definitive answer as to what the issue was. Nor could I ever find one from the forums - seemed like it varied from projector to projector , setup to setup. Seemed to me though it was somehow related to HDMI source switching issue, particularly if you were using both HDMI inputs. The new one is OK (touch wood!) If your projector is still in warranty I'd be going back to the retailer.

Hi David1
Could I know the model# for this JVC X3 projector?
I'm thinking of getting JVC DLAX30-B and wondering this is same model or different one?
