Thanks SLE355

That's the problem.  And just noticed a minor one on the top right too.  Is the best action to phone Samsung and get them to replace?

Yep, from what i've read they will swap it no problems.

Bugger!!!!

Just got the call that the TV's dead (no nothing). Wife called Clive Anthony and they said they'd get a replacement from another store, but because we picked the first TV up, we'd have to drop off the dead TV and pickup the new one. (or pay $64).

Is this right???? So if I paid $45 for delivery originally, I wouldn't have to pay delivery on the replacement?????

Does anyone no what my rights are for delivery on faulty equipment? I mean it's a 40kg TV, it's not the easiest thing to pickup/deliver and I'm at work and the wife and kids are at home....

How many tv's have you returned? If you paid for delivery & the tv was faulty then it's their responsibility to pick it up and drop off a new tv. If you picked it up yourself then it's your responsibility to take it back or pay for a delivery/pick-up. Most stores I know would not make you pay for a delivery/pick-up on a faulty tv, regardless of wether or not you originally paid for delivery. If you didn't pay for delivery on a specific faulty tv then I would guess they're within their rights to ask you to pay for delivery on that occasion.

Only one ie this is the first return, but honestly not i big deal.

But, i would of thought regardless of how the first TV was delivered, the fact remains that the product is faulty and should be (due to its size)  picked up and a new one dropped off at the seller/manufacturers expense.

If I had paid the delievery ($45) originally, then I wouldn't have to pay the $64 they now want, plus they tell me now that this happens regularly ie TV breakdown within the first 2 weeks. I would think that this should also be mentioned at the time of sale inc the additional delievery costs if you take it yourself.

Maybe I'm too old and expect too much from current customer service. or cynical that this is another way for the stores to make some money.

I fail to see how anyone could expect to return a TV without it being packed the way they received it.

What do you expect the retailer to do with the TV?"

When i had mine replaced, i was told by samsung to hang onto the box and the guy picking up the tv would take it.

When the guy picking up the tv came he told me he didn't have room for the box so left it.

Annoying as there was a council cleanup after i spoke to Samsung and before it was picked up so i now have an extra large box that i don't need.

Why wasn't the TV packed in its box ready for collection?
