Just wondering if these devices remember where a show is up to without having to mark it?
I want to watch recorded TV and when ever just stop the show and it remembers each show where it is up to.
My panasonic DVR does and I hope this does as well.
What is a good price for these?

Nope it doesn't. Bookmarks aren't even retained when turned off.
Can't delete recordings when timeshift is enabled
Can't chase play a recording
No EPG info when viewing a show
Back it goes. Worst machine I have ever purchased.
A shame when it had so many advanced features.

by no epg info when viewing a show do you mean you can't get info about that show? If so, the instructions say to push 'enter' and the info box comes up to tell you about that shows
all the other drawbacks are pretty bad - i was considering one of these also. The later models don't seem to have twin tuners either - pretty stupid that i reckon
so, what are you getting boxall? A panasonic equivalent ?

LG HR698D. What a frustrating waste of space this unit is. I kept mine for two frustrating months, then returned it. If they hadn't taken it back, I would have happily pegged it off a cliff. Totally infuriating to use. SO much potential. Promises everything. Delivers frustration. Avoid at all costs.

New firmware 05 June 2012 - Ver:BR.8.42.143.B.
Having a look now to see what has changed.
Coming from a toppy, I also found this a frustrating machine, but we now use a USB attached to the 47LW6500 TV for all our pause live tv and this unit for DVD playback and regular taping of shows we don't need to chase play. Eventually it's all working nicely, but yes, it was a shock that this machine didn't chase play etc. Such basic stuff I assumed it would do.
