The matches, scheduled to be played on Saturday 2 July and Sunday 3 July, will be the first programmes to be shown in 3D by the BBC.
The free-to-air broadcast will be available to anyone who has access to a 3D TV set and HD Channels.
Danielle Nagler, head of BBC HD and 3D, said: "We're bringing audiences a new way of getting close to the action."
She added: "I'm sure that 3D will only add to the drama as the world's greatest players compete for the championship."
Rafael Nadal's victory over Tomas Berdych in the 2010 final was watched by an average of 5.6m viewers, while 2.3m watched Serena Williams win her fourth singles title.
BBC executive sport producer Paul Davies said: "This unique 3D transmission is the latest innovation to bring to life all the tension, drama and excitement on one of the most iconic sporting arenas in the world."
As well as coverage on BBC One, BBC HD and BBC Two, viewers will also be able to follow the tournament via the BBC Sport website and the BBC Red Button.

FOX SPORTS TO DELIVER MORE
WIMBLEDON ACTION THAN EVER BEFORE
In its 15th year of broadcasting tennis’ most prestigious event FOX SPORTS will provide its most comprehensive coverage of The Wimbledon Championships when the tournament gets underway on Monday, June 20.
FOX SPORTS will televise more than 250 hours of Wimbledon coverage across the 13-day Championships with days 1-9 broadcast LIVE each night on FOX SPORTS 3HD and FOX SPORTS 3. Once again FOX SPORTS LIVE coverage will extend into the Men’s and Women’s quarter-final rounds.
In a bolstered on-air line-up, current Australian star Alicia Molik will make her commentary debut alongside FOX SPORTS tennis expert Wally Masur and the regular on-air Grand Slam team of Nicole Pratt, Roger Rasheed and Josh Eagle.
Lee Furlong will also be reporting LIVE from The All England Club in her role as colour and court reporter, taking viewers behind the scenes to unravel the history, stories and characters that make The Championships the world’s most renowned tennis event.
New to 2011 and to complement FOX SPORTS’ increased coverage of The Championships, a 30-minute LIVE preview show ‘Today at The Championships’ hosted by Adam Peacock will lead FOX SPORTS’ telecast from 8.30pm AEST on each day of LIVE coverage.
Delivering a comprehensive view on the stories, characters and matches that matter ‘Today at The Championships’ will provide fans with a preview of the upcoming day’s action and offer an intimate look into the most anticipated Grand Slam of the year.
Additionally, FOX SPORTS will screen highlights of each day’s play throughout The Championships, while FOX SPORTS News and foxsports.com.au will keep viewers up-to-date with all the latest news, highlights and LIVE match scores. The FOX SPORTS website will also provide daily video reports and exclusive interviews from The All England Club, while FOX SPORTS News will cross LIVE to Wally Masur nightly to preview each day’s play.
The weight of British hopes will rest on the shoulders of home-grown hero Andy Murray, fresh from his victory at The Queen’s Club in London, as he attempts to become the first Brit to win the Men’s Championships since 1936. In his path will be Novak Djokovic and World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, along with six-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer.
Lleyton Hewitt is the nation’s only automatic entry into the draw with young guns Bernard Tomic and Chris Guccione contending for their Wimbledon spot through the qualifying rounds.
In a hotly contested Ladies draw, reigning champion Serena Williams is scheduled to play her first major since taking out last year’s Championships and will be met by a resilient field of challengers. Following a merciless run to victory at the Sony Ericsson Open, World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki will be vying to claim her maiden Grand Slam but will face firm opposition from in-form Russian Vera Zvonareva whose heavy game perfectly suits the grass.
Samantha Stosur will fly the Aussie flag with hopes to advance further than her previous third-round best result and will be joined by compatriots Jarmila Gajdosova, Anastasia Rodionova and Jelena Dokic.

Yeah, but who would want to watch 7s low definition, blur-o-vision rubbish?
Pass.

There is no word on whether 3-D transmissions will be repeated like the World Cup Soccer from South Africa. This was an experiment by free to air networks. It will be up to the 7 network to see if it is worth the extra cost of extra transmitter hire etc.

7 are hopeless, but so are 9
Last ahes series 9 showed it on their sub standard SD channel, as they showed old movies and stuff of their HD channel Gem, 7 is doing same this year for aFL showing it on SD channel and not &mate, although new TV rights from 2012, AFL made sure 7 shows AFL on HD 7mate. Do 9 do the same with NRL in Sydney, Brisbane?, that is not showing it on HD channel.
I do note tomorrow which might be a first that for V8 fans, 7 is showing Darin races on their 7mate channel, so the Sunday AFL game replay doesn't cut into broadcast.
Now no offence to V8 fans, but one might assume there would be more AFL fans than V8 and surley that should be other way around tomorrow. Although the amount of adverts 7 showed during Sydney and Richmond game last weekend, was a joke!
Surley if Foxtel can have 3 HD channels, 7 and 9 can add one more, at least 10 show sport of their HD one channel!

It would cost big dollars to buy more bandwidth for more HD from the government and it's all about profits not making people happy unfortunately.

The only way that locally produced HD will move forward in this country is if the sport/league organisers mandate, as part of their broadcast contract, that their events are broadcast in HD.
Even if this means the networks have to simulcast on the primary SD and HD channels (for advertising revenue), then the viewers are the clear winners whether you have HD or not.
The next step is getting more bandwidth so you don't end up with massively overcompressed, blocky rubbish while they try to stuff a 1080i MPEG2 stream into ~10mbit. For live action sport that just doesn't cut it.

Wow.
If you think that 7's low definition blurry crap even remotely compares to Fox Sports HD, you would be the one who requires the eye check.
Wimbledon on Fox Sports HD looks excellent. 7 is unwatchable in comparison.

Fox Sports presenters mentioned tonight they will activate red button viewer choice, mind you 4 days into the event and yet half an hour into the Serena game still no button.
Still waiting to see if we can get a peek at some of the 10 live matches playing right now.

Here is the reply on no finals in 3D on Foxtel.
Thank you for your email to FOXTEL.
I appreciate the time you have taken to contact us regarding Wimbledon Champions 2011 on FOX Sports. Unfortunately FOX Sports nor FOXTEL have the 3D broadcast rights to this event and are unable to screen the finals on our dedicated 3D channel. We will try to include this in future broadcasts of Wimbledon and other major tennis tournaments.
Once more thank you for taking the time to contact us, you can leave your programming feedback http://www.foxtel.co...ack/default.htm or speak to our FOXTEL Representatives on 131 999. They are available to talk to you from 7.30AM to 11PM (EST), everyday.
Yours sincerely
